For residential systems under 10 kW:
Critical: Your installer must register you for SREC-II within 180 days of interconnection. Miss this window, you lose the incentive forever. I've seen three cases where installers "forgot" and homeowners lost thousands. Get registration confirmation in writing.

New Jersey maintains full retail-rate net metering, meaning you get credited at the same rate you pay for electricity (currently ~18¢/kWh). Credits roll over monthly, with annual reconciliation.
